Apico Husqvarna Stuart Edmonds had a career best finish at Landrake for round four of the Michelin MX Championship at Landrake this weekend.
Grabbing a huge start in the first Fastest 40 moto, Edmonds had the ride of his life pushing hard and holding Par Homes Husqvarna Egevny Bobryshev at bay to grab a third place, which set him up perfectly for nearly passing Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha Harri Kullas in the second Fastest 40 moto hole shot.
“After a solid sixth fastest in qualifying, I felt good and was ready to attack the racing,’ explained Edmonds.
“Lining up in the middle for the first race I got a great jump out of the gate in fifthĀ where I pushed hard in the opening lap to gain my best result of the season so far with a third and I was very happy with that.”
“My confidence was high going into the second moto and I got a decent jump out of the gate again into second position, though halfway round the opening lap I made a mistake, cross rutted and went down.”
“I had to turn the bike around and by the time I got going, I was dead last. I worked my way through a bunch of riders into fifteenth, then I made another mistake that knocked me to the back of the field again. Still, I got my head down putting in consistently fast laps, which put me as the top four riders and made up over a dozen places to finish in the top ten and passing all the MX2 riders and some competitors.”
Even though the mistakes potentially cost me a place on the podium, I was happy with my days racing and fifthĀ Overall. Iād like to thank my team, Apico Husqvarna and Sponsors both back in Ireland and here in the UK for their continued support. Their input has been massive and helped me get the results Iām achieving right now.”
