Jimmy Clochet (Kawasaki) raced to victory in today’s second EMXOpen moto at the MXGP of Pietramurata – his third win from four starts – but a 13th-placed finish for the Frenchman in the opening race meant he ended the day in fifth overall.
Instead, it was Latvia’s Toms Macuks (KTM) who topped the podium with 2-2 finishes from Kim Savaste (KTM) who went 1-5 and series leader Karel Kutsar (KTM) who finished third in both races.
As a result, Savaste has taken a point out of Kutsar’s advantage which now stands at 11 and with just one round to go we’re all set for a dramatic conclusion at the Trentino circuit on Saturday.
Best of the Brits was Scotland’s John Adamson (AAA KTM) whose 6-7 card was good enough for sixth on the day, three places ahead of Dan Thornhill (Cab Screens Deos Group Honda) who went 10-8.
