Team France has named their rider line-up for the 2018 MXoN and unsurprisingly, once again, the French selection for Motocross of Nations – held at RedBud on October 6/7 – will blow up the motocross corner of the internet.

The 2018 Team France MXdN squad, selected by the Fédération Française de Motocyclisme, is Gautier Paulin (MX1), Romain Febvre (Open) and Dylan Ferrandis (MX2).

That means the superfast Frenchman that currently sits second in the US 450 domestic championship, that’s Marvin Musquin, misses out once again.

There is no word yet on whether Musquin elected to make himself unavailable or if he was snubbed but many fans will be surprised by his omission. With the battle for the Chamberlain Trophy taking place on US soil, some fans will have understandably thought Musquin’s inclusion would be a no-brainer.

Musquin last took part at ‘des Nations in 2015 when he partnered with Gautier Paulin and Romain Febvre. The trio then secured victory on home soil at Ernée, much to the delight of the home support.

I’m sure this isn’t the last we will hear on this story.

One thing is for sure, this is still a very strong team and it’s a nice problem for the FFM to have. France has won the last four Motocross of Nations and will be looking to make it five on the bounce at RedBud.
