Team Belgium announced their rider line-up for the 2019 Motocross of Nations at their home grand prix last weekend.

Jeremy van Horebeek will represent Team Belgium in the MXGP class, the impressive Jago Geerts in MX2 and 33-year-old (34 this month) veteran Kevin Strijbos in the Open class for the Assen MXoN.

Where will Team Belgium finish?

Team Belgium are a powerhouse when it comes the ‘Nations, winning the Chamberlain Trophy 15 times since 1947.

Their last victory came in 2013 at Teutschenthal when De Dycker, Desalle and Van Horebeek outscored Team USA’s Tomac, Barcia and Dungey. And over the last five years Belgium have been on the podium twice, only finishing outside the top five once in that time ā€“ even then they were still sixth…

…even more impressive, Belgium have landed on the Motocross of Nations podium 11 times in the last 15 years.

Will they win in 2019? There will probably be too many teams with a stronger line-up in Assen but I wouldn’t bet against them finding the podium once more ā€“ top five is certainly achievable, especially when you consider the amount of support they’ll bring to the man-made circuit in the Netherlands.
