With the MX2 title already in the bag, Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM) could afford a few lapses in concentration at yesterdayā€™s MXGP of Garda Trentino ā€“ the 18th and final round of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship ā€“ which is a good job because he fell three times in the second moto!
Luckily, being the fastest rider in the world on a 250F has its upside and he still finished the race in fifth which together with his opening moto win was good enough for second overall on the day.
ā€œTo be world champion in my second year is amazing,ā€ said the 20-year-old Frenchman. ā€œThe last few days have been really good and today my riding was pretty good also. In the second moto I crashed at the start but came back from last to fifth. I crashed twice more and was a bit angry about thatā€¦but I was really fast today.
ā€œI tried to be as consistent as possible this year. I was trying my best every time and focusing on good starts and riding like I do in training and it worked very well. I want to thank the whole team and my family. It has been amazing to ride in this race team the last two years. It has been fantastic.ā€
