MXGP Mantova: Prado victorious in moto one

Red Bull Factory GasGas Jorge Prado wins the first moto of the day in the MXGP of Lombardia, at the Mantova circuit for the second round of the championship series.

Red Bull Factory GasGas’s Jorge Prado added another Fox Holeshot to his collection, after grabbing both last weekend in Matterley Bains. HRC Honda’s Tim Gajser followed shortly behind, as Monster Energy Yamaha’s Jeremy Seewer tagged on to the duo through the first corner.

Gajser and Prado then came together scrubbing one of the huge tabletops in Mantova, but luckily none of them crashed out and managed to continue as Prado starts to push away from Gajser. Meanwhile Arminas Jasikonis crashed at the end of the wave section and lost his tenth place, and did not restart the moto.

As the pair started to create a huge gap at the front of the pack, Monster Energy Yamaha’s Maxime Renaux started to charge through the field and made his way to finish up in third place. Shortly followed by Honda 114 Motorsports rider Ruben Fernandez and Team Diga Procross Husqvarna Thomas Kjer Olsen rounding up to the top six.
