Monster Yamaha’s Maxime Renaux grabbed the MX2 first race win of the day at Kegums.

Red Bull KTM’s Mattia Guadagnini grabbed a massive holeshot in the opening moto of the day in Latvia, ahead of Renaux and Rockstar Husqvarna’s Jed Beaton.

Renaux and Guadagnini battled back and forth in the tough sand, as the battle for third and fourth continued with Jago Geerts and Beaton just behind in the opening laps of the first moto of the day.

Honda 114 motorsports rider Ruben Fernandez nearly got wiped out by another rider after making a mistake and crashing on one of the jumps mid race, which ultimately meant he finished down in seventeenth, with Brit team mate Joel Rizzi finishing down in twenty first position.

Renaux went on to claim the opening moto one win of the day followed by Guadagnini and Geerts rounding up the top three finishers.
