Monster Yamaha’s Jago Geerts will travel to Orlyonok for the MXGP season opener in Russia despite suffering a knee injury on Sunday while racing in France.
The 21-year-old Belgian suffered a minor setback when he twisted his left knee at Erne but after much thought and a detailed medical examination, Geerts has decided to race and collect as many points as possible.
āIām looking forward to the first round in Russia. I had a good winter prep this year. We worked a lot on the bike and we made some positive changes which Iām happy about,” said Geerts.
“So, my feeling on the bike is good and Iām really motivated to start the season. I did pick up a small injury last weekend, but my physiotherapist is positive and believes it is possible for me to ride, so I will be on the line and Iām excited to race.ā
