Kevin Windham has been selected/agreed to compete for Team Puerto Rico at the 2018 Motocross of Nations, RedBud as a replacement for Ronnie Mac, Travis Pastrana has confirmed.
The larger than life character of Ronnie Mac was pulled from the Puerto Rico team earlier this week and Windham was almost immediately rumoured to be the man picked to step in.
Posting on social media Pastrana said: “Welcome to the team K-Dub! Not sure how the internet knew before we did, but itās official. I owe you one buddy!”
40-year-old K-Dub retired five years ago and last competed two years ago at the Legends race at the Ironman National.
It certainly won’t be Kevin Windham’s first rodeo when it comes to the ‘Nations, he was part of the 2005 MXoN winning team at Ernee, France along with Ivan Tedesco and the GOAT, Ricky Carmichael.
What will be disappointing for two-stroke fans is the idea of Team Puerto Rico being all-in on two-strokes is now dead with Windham reported to be racing a Honda CRF450R (not full works), but both Ryan Sipes and Travis Pastrana appear to still be fully committed to racing on the smokers.

The team is still raising funds for Puerto Rico and an early count stands at $15,000 raised. “That money is going straight to the Federation De Motociclismo who will put the funds to work throughout the Puerto Rican community,” a Nitro Circus press release stated.
