Glenn Coldenhoff completes the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP line-up for 2021, joining forces with established team member Jeremy Seewer and new signing Ben Watson.
The 29-year-old ā€“ a GP winner this year and a member of the victorious Dutch Motocross of Nations team in 2019 at Assen where he recorded a perfect 1-1 score ā€“ is currently recovering from a neck injury but is confident heā€™ll be back to full fitness in plenty of time.
ā€œI feel very welcomed by the whole Yamaha family,ā€ said Coldenhoff, who is leaving GASGAS to take up his new ride. ā€œFrom the first moments we met I felt there was a very motivated and ambitious team awaiting me. I am really thankful for the opportunity.
ā€œI strongly believe that I can still make progress, win races and can fight for the championship. I know Yamaha will give me everything to achieve these goals. My recovery is going well and I cannot wait to jump on the blue bike soon.ā€
Team owner Louis Vosters is delighted with the signing.
ā€œItā€™s great to have Glenn Coldenhoff on board for the next years,ā€ he said. ā€œHe is a great rider who is still making steps forward year after year. I really believe that in the Yamaha structure with YZ450FM he will be able to achieve the best possible results.ā€
