The Aussie team for MXoN was announced this week and there was one huge omission with Chad Reed not making the cut for the Motocross of Nations at RedBud on October 6/7.

Reed has now released his thoughts on missing out on Team Australia for 2018 and it may leave you feeling a little heavyhearted.

“Iā€™ve played a large role in representing Australia at MXoN over the last 19 years,” wrote Reed on social media. “Every time I put on the green and gold I was so honoured to be representing my country.

“Winning motos and standing on the individual podium was the highest level of pride Iā€™ve ever felt!

“I took it personal when as a team we failed to get the results we were capable of.

“Finally in 2011 we experienced the most amazing feeling winning the first moto and then standing on the overall podium with my fellow Australian teammates – two very talented riders @bmetty24 [Brett Metcalfe] @mossy102 [Matt Moss].

“For the last month I had been working hard with the plan of racing my final MXoN at RedBud with @bmetty24 [Brett Metcalfe] but unfortunately we didnā€™t make the team. Iā€™m disappointed that my chance of wearing the green and gold at MXoN has come to an end but the memories will be with me forever!”
