Brad Anderson (Verde Sports KTM) is potentially now just one race away from lifting his third European two-stroke title following a cool and calculated performance in the opening EMX2t moto at today’s MXGP of Pietramurata.
The battling Brit started well, quickly slotted into second place and then put in a champion’s performance around the spectacular hard-pack Italian circuit.
Italy’s Nicholas Lapucci (Fantic) led every lap to win as his compatriot Federico Tuani (Husqvarna) came home third behind Ando. The result moves Tuani past Eugenio Barbaglia (Husqvarna) into second in the championship chase but with three motos left he trails by 52 points, meaning Ando could sew up the title in today’s second moto.
