Monster Yamaha’s very own Brit MXGP rider Ben Watson lined up at the Cadders Hill Circuit yesterday, returning to the new Revo MXGB Championship, putting his YZ450 to the test.

If you managed to tune into any of the live stream racing yesterday or managed to get track side to watch at Lyng, Watson’s experience shone through against the rest of the pack, and especially during the battle between Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings.

Speaking to DBR exclusively, Watson explained how his day went:

“It was really nice to be back at the British championship, especially with fans. Everyone around the track going crazy just made the day that little bit more special,” said Watson.

“It had been four years since I raced at Lyng. The track turned out amazing, it got really bumpy so for a pre season race to prepare for the GPs it was the perfect event to do. I managed two great starts, and really enjoyed the close racing with Herlings all day.

“I was very happy with a one-two finish and especially my feeling with the new bike in a race situation. It was the main reason I came here to get some starts and race laps under my belt so overall a very positive day.

“The season is approaching fast now, I will head in to the first round with no pressure, I want to keep learning, keep building and have fun. I know what I can do on a bike, I have everything around me to achieve the best possible results so 2021 is going to be an exciting season.”
