Massive blow for Calvin Vlaanderen and Team Netherlands at MXoN RedBud with reports in the USA saying that the chance of a Dutch win is over with Vlaanderen out through injury.
Calvin Vlaanderen was apparently hit in the eye by a rock during the first MXoN race with the injury so bad that doctors would not let the MX2 rider take any further part.
Jeffrey Herlings had put the Netherlands in a strong position with his Motocross of Nations race one victory and although Vlaanderen was left with a high score, the Dutch could have dropped that as their worst result.
We’re looking to get official confirmation on the extent of Vlaanderen’s injury.
