Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha rider Harri Kullas had a break from national action this weekend, as he contested the MXGP of Great Britain.
In the stacked field, Kullas struggled to get a good start from the outside in race one and battled around the mid-20 positions to eventually finish 27th.
In race two, the Estonian gated well but then got pushed down a few places on lap one, latching onto Factory Husqvarna rider Arminas Jasikonis, and later on in the race getting on the rear wheel of Shaun Simpson, to finish 26th. It was a really tough day for the team, but now the focus goes back to national races for the remainder of the season.
“Probably not the results that we wanted this weekend,” said Cab Screens boss Lee Webber.
“Track prep hindered us slightly as it didnāt lend itself to overtaking, unlike Matterley normally does. The speed was good though and we are all set for the second half of the season which is obviously very important to us at the moment, with Harri lying second in both the Revo MXGB Championship and the Michelin MX Nationals championship.
Kullas added: “Yeah it was a bit of a difficult weekend. For me track was bit hard and dry which is not my preferable but it was the same for everyone. Time practice didnāt go that well, had to start outside. I started good both races from far outside but I had some bar banging both races on first lap and lost some positions.
“I did fight with my riding and the track a bit and then it was hard to get any better results. The field was stacked also so there is no room for any mistakes to get some points. Anyway for us was just one MXGP round and we take all positives and keep doing what we have been doing so far, and try to carry it on at British races.”
