With Romain Febvre now confirmed out for the Motocross of Nations at RedBud Team France has announced his replacement with Jordi Tixier getting the nod.
The French federation revealed the news on social media. Here’s the translation: “Following the injury package of Romain Febvre and on proposal from the national coach, here is the composition of the French team defined by the Federation French of motorcycling for the Motocross of Nations to be held in Red Bud (USA) on 6 and 7 October.”
This is now the rider line-up for Team France MXoN 2018:
Gautier Paulin (Husqvarna) – MX1 (Captain)
Dylan Ferrandis (Yamaha) – MX2
Jordi Tixier (KTM) – Open
Fļøans have speculated on a replacement rider ever since Febvre’s injury at the MXGP of Turkey. Many suggested that Marvin Musquin would be the obvious choice but following a public fallout after the Team France selection announcement, that never looked a certainty.
Jordi Tixier himself has been plagued with injury in recent years and recently left BOS GP. He does now appear to be fully fit and although he is a quality rider and former MX2 world champion, he is not at the same level of Musquin or indeed Febvre.
