Calvin Vlaanderen (Gebben Van Venrooy Yamaha Racing) will miss the final three rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship after injuring his hip in a practice crash.
The South African-born Dutchman ā a member of Hollandās victorious 2019 Motocross of Nations team ā has been replaced by Brent Van doninck who has been released by his British-based ASA United Husqvarna team to allow him to compete.
āObviously, Iām very disappointed to end the season like this,ā said Vlaanderen, who currently sits 15th in the MXGP title chase. āOn Wednesday, my last training on the bike for the season, I had a crash and hurt my hip. I needed a few stitches in my hip which will make me have to sit out the last few rounds.
āIt was a challenging rookie year with many ups and a few downs but it sure was a good one! I had some small injuries throughout the year which didnāt help but Iām proud I lined up to every race and did my best. A huge thanks to the whole Gebben Van Venrooy team for all the hard work and countless hours they put in this season!ā
