The Honda Xtreme Academy has announced its next training event with pro riders Rui Goncalves and Jonathan Barragan will be at the Doon track, Southern Ireland on the 9th of July 2011. The event is free, yes FREE and open to all Honda riders under-23 Honda riders, although it is aimed primarily at CRF150 riders.
The training school, which will be run by Rev Racing’s Mark Reville, who has years of experience working with young riders, has two GP stars as instructors for the day.
Goncalves, Portugal and Honda’s highest placed rider in a World Championship, is now in his second year with the factory Honda World Motocross squad with which he’s had a number of podium finishes in the MX1 class, and brings his years of experience with a superb riding style to help train the Irish riders.
LS Honda Racing rider Jonathan Barragan joins Goncalves in this specialist training school. Barragan has won multiple national titles, and a number of Grand Prix races at MX1 level with a best result of fourth in the World.
The Honda Xtreme Academy training event forms part of the Southern championship in which CRF 150R riders receive recognition as a Honda rider, extra prizes with a separate championship points system, peer mentoring and much more. This initiative by Honda Europe has been rolled out across eight countries in Europe to help develop the next generation of riders aboard fourstroke machinery.
