Lee Hicks from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire is the winner of the recent TMX/ DBR competition to win a week’s riding holiday for two in Southern California – plus a trip to the Glen Helen MXGP – with Kurt Nicoll’s new Champion MX vacations business.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be perfectly honest,” said Lee, who is taking AMCA rider Sam Danaher with him.

“It’s a bit of a dream come true because I’ve always wanted to do something like this but never been able to justify spending money on myself when I can take the family on holiday.

“I grew up watching Kurt race and he was my childhood hero really. The first motocross bike I bought was in 1989 and the first kit I bought was the Kawasaki Team Green kit that he was wearing. I’m absolutely stoked – it’s a bit surreal to be honest.”

Launched in June by the four-time world 500cc vice-champ and ’94 MXdN winner, Champion MX offers dirt bike fans the ultimate SoCal motocross experience with bike hire, track fees, accommodation and transport all included in the price.

“I’ve spoken to Lee and he’s very excited,” said Kurt. “I’m looking forward to welcoming him to SoCal and giving him and his friend the holiday of a lifetime.”
