Wacker heads to Vegas for some Endurocross action where he’s joined by a trio of KTM legends – namesake Jonny Walker, Taddy ‘the daddy’ Blazusiak and Captain Kurt for an indoor enduro adventure…

Taddy takes a perfect season… Jonny Walker makes a strong debut in AMA Endurocross by making the main and taking two top tens… Kurt Nichol takes the Vets EX championship and I – Geoff Walker – take a soil sample…

The pressure was on Taddy for the final round of Endurocross in Las Vegas to see if he could take a full season of unbeaten main events. The Vegas program was something new for EX with two main events running. UK interest was high with three riders out there. The reborn Kurt ‘lets party’ Nichol has been tearing it up in Vets EX on breaks from his Nitro Circus duties while young hotshot Jonny Walker was tasting Vegas and AMA EX for the first time. I was there for my third crack at trying to make the main event!

Jonny lined up in heat three and missed out on the chance to qualify straight to the main. I lined up in heat two and with Taddy in my line up the chance to qualify would take a miracle…. A ninth for me in the heat took me to the LCQ where both J and G Walker were on the line. Jonny took a strong second to progress to the main and I scraped myself up off the dirt in the second turn to try to make it as far through as I could. With G Walker out and J Walker ready to rip in the mains the Vets grand final was up next and Kurt rode strong and steady to take the win. Great work Sir!

Jonny gave things 100 per cent in both mains to almost take a top five in final #1 and making top ten again in final #2. Thanks to Christini for hooking me up with some sick wheels for the night. What a show and look out for the full story in next month’s mag…
