Another amazing track and venue greeted the team for the Lunel Supercross on the French Riviera where a top-class Pro field presented a huge challenge with the addition of MXGP championship contender Valentin Guillod in the mix.

Training and quali sessions were hit by rain but the guys got on with it and looked forward to the night show on what was a prime track.

Both Thomas Ramette and Cyrille Coulon raced the same semi with TR6 taking a commanding victory and CC5 riding a solid race for third – our guys were absolutely buzzing for the Main Event.

Thomas had a perfect start and with his amazing speed and building confidence set off to push hard every lap with Guillod in second. Cyrille took a hit on the start and had to build his race from ninth place, pushing for a well-deserved sixth at the flag. While Thomas rode a flawless race to extend his lead over Guillod and Cedric Soubeyras, laying down fantastic lap times on his SR RMZ 450 to take an amazing victory.

After the disappointment of last week when he lost the SX Tour title on a tie-breaker it was the perfect response from Thomas and the team as a unit.

“What a night,” said Thomas. “I am very happy as we had the stress with the rain hitting earlier. It turned out the track was perfect and it was great to have Guillod here to test my pace against.

“I want to thank everyone who helps me personally and of course everyone involved in every way with this team.”

Cyrille was satisfied with his performance. “Tonight I am happy,” he said. “I made a good semi-final and I have to fight hard for my sixth place in the final. I want to make a great start in the final but it’s difficult as I made contact with the other guys. It is normal; it is supercross and all make a strong start. I like to push on this track and is good to make some good passing. I thank my team and all sponsors of the team and my personal assistance.”

Team owner Geoff Walker was delighted with his two riders. “The strength shown by both Cyrille and Thomas always amazes me as they never give in,” said the Irishman.

“Thomas took things to a different level tonight and this makes me incredibly happy. I know how hard this young man works on all aspects of his programme and with his confidence building each week we will be continuing to improve.

“We are enjoying every single day as a team and doing what we do with the very limited budget we have makes each of these days a challenge but it is a challenge we enjoy as a team. I thank everyone who continues to help us build and work for this amazing success.”
