Taddy Blazusiak has made his return to competitive racing action, placing third overall at the UK’s Enduro Extreme Indoor event.

Using the race as a pre-SuperEnduro World Championship shakedown, Blazusiak went up against Jonny Walker and David Knight, among others. Forced to keep away from competition over the summer while recovering from the Epstein Barr virus, the event marked Taddy’s first competitive outing since Erzberg in early June.

Starting his night in the UK by posting the absolute best time during the Hot Lap session, Taddy then placed second in race one before a crash in race two saw him finish seventh.

The Polish rider came back swinging in the final race of the evening. Starting third he made an impressive move from the inside on the rocks and logs section to pass both Jonny Walker and David Knight for the lead. Despite stalling his bike on the last lap Blazusiak was able to hold his position and win the final race.

Blazusiak finished the event third overall and will now return to training ahead of the start of the 2016 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.

Taddy Blazusiak said: “It’s been really tough being forced to sit out of racing since June. But now I’m back and I’m ready to do give 100 per cent as I always did. This event was like a test for us, especially after all this time away from racing.

“It started off with me wining the Hot Lap session, which I was really pleased about to be honest. Even after all this time off my speed is still there. I opted to start the indoor season with the 250F, which I believe is the best bike for me. We came to the UK with last year’s settings and had to make some changes during the evening. But overall all the small changes we made worked in our favour.

“At the end of the night I was feeling comfortable on my bike. I got together with Jonny in race two and I hit the ground. I had to start from dead last and with a twisted front end. But in race three I had a good battle with Jonny and I’m pleased I won it. We still have some things we need to work on but we’ll be ready when the SuperEnduro championship starts.”
