Round eight of the Monster Energy Supercross got underway tonight at the Camping World Stadium, showcasing exciting racing with a fresh line up of 250SX riders to tackle the Florida dirt.
Heat one for the 250SX Class saw Seth Hammaker take the holeshot, with Pro Circuit kawasaki going one, two and three into the first corner. Manluk Rock River Merge Yamaha’s Alex Martin made a push for seventh and finished inside the top ten, with Cameron Mcadoo making the move on this team mate Hammaker to take the lead and the heat one win.
Heading into heat two for the 250SX class we saw Hunter Lawrence grab the hole -hot for a few corners until Jeremy Martin pulled away almost instantly from him. Martin then checked out with a five-second lead with two minutes to go, just as Lawrence came under pressure from Cooper as he made the pass stick, making it a Monster Energy Star Yamaha one-two.
Main event saw carnage as a handful of riders went down in the first rhythm section, with Martin crasing on the start, popping his shoulder out. The race then got red flagged one lap in, due to Martin hitting the deck hard half a lap later, causing McAdoo to misjudge the red flag and clip a marshal.
Cooper got the holeshot in the restart, pulling an impressive eight second lead ahead of McAdoo to take the race win, with privateer Garrett Marchbanks finishing third on board his Club MX Yamaha.
