In a surprise Monster Cup reveal, Ryan Villopoto – four times Supercross champion – announced his intention to race this weekend at the 2018 Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 13.
The exciting news for Supercross fans around the world came at the live Monster Energy Cup pre-race press conference. Villopoto quickly followed his appearance at the press event with a post on his Instagram post, saying: “I AM IN!!! Racing this weekend #monstercup. Looking forward to getting back out there on my terms.”
Villopoto was asked by host Ralph Sheheen why he had chosen to race the Monster Cup and RV2 explained it was perfect preparation for the upcoming AUS-X Open. When pressed on his future plans Ryan was a little coy, expressing that his kids take up all attention at the moment.
