2019 Supercross gets underway at A1 (Angel Stadium) in Anaheim on the first Saturday in January and just as unsurprisingly, Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will conclude at Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas in early May. But there are some surprises.

After taking a break last season, New Jersey and Detroit return to the Supercross calendar for 2019 and there are a few new cities and venues in the mix too with Nashville making its debut on the Supercross championship with Nissan Stadium taking the April 6 date.

Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver, Colorado slots in at round 15 one week later (April 13) as the city makes its return after a break of over 20 years. Among the venues making way for the new of the 2019 AMA Supercross schedule is The Dome, St. Louis, Gillette Stadium, Foxborough and Raymond James Stadium, Tampa.

The 2019 SX schedule will once again feature three Triple Crown events and two East-West Showdowns ā€“ these will be revealed on October 23 when tickets go on sale.

There are going to be some very disappointed fans with their favourite SX cities being left off the 2019 Supercross schedule, and that’s understandable. But what of other territories getting their chance? It’s important for the future of the sport we love that it expands opportunities for new blood. The series is already stretched over four months so making it much longer is a big ask so there will always be cities (and fans) that miss out as Feld looks to keep things fresh. Hopefully your favourite venue will be back in the near future.

In the meantime, bring on A1.
