Apico Husqvarna Racing has confirmed today that their injured rider Kristian Whatley underwent successful surgery earlier this week.
Whatley broke his femur in a particularly bad crash at Canada Heights last weekend as he battled inside the top five of the opening moto at the third round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship.
The former British champion hit the track fencing hard after coming off a jump and the race was red-flagged so that Whatley could receive the proper medical attention before being taken to hospital.
As you can see from the Instagram post below, Whatley is now back on his feet with the aid of crutches and will begin his long road to recovery. “Good to see @kristianwhatley227 back on his feet, surgery went well,” Apico Husqvarna Racing posted.
