After intense speculation involving names as far afield as Ken Roczen, Arnaud Tonus and Ben Townley the rumoured favourite for the second works saddle at the Rockstar Energy Suzuki team, now under the stewardship of former world champion Stefan Everts is Steven Frossard.

The 2011 MXGP runner-up has been heavily linked with the Lommel-based outfit over the past week and since allegedly testing the factory RM-Z450. The 28-year-old is currently filling-in for the injured Ryan Villopoto at Monster Energy Kawasaki; the team he rode for in 2014 and after splitting from the Wilvo Forkrent KTM team mid-season.

With Clement Desalle’s touted move to Kawasaki all but finalised and Jordi Tixier having signed to be the Belgian’s team-mate the two principal slots in green are confirmed. The Frenchman is understood to still be in discussions with KRT however as the multinational squad are apparently keen on fielding three riders in 2016.

If Frossard does decide for a year in yellow and in Lommel then he will set for his third factory saddle in as many years after competing in Yamaha colours in 2013.
