When a pandemic is threatening to turn life as we know it on its head but you’ve still got a club to run, what do you do? Well, if you’re the Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club you wave two fingers at COVID-19 and roll out an extended, expanded schedule for 2021.

The clue’s in the name. Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club is not your average MC and following on from another successful ‘Rock it til Sundown’ event this year the club’s ménage à trois – that’s Jeff Perrett, Julie Coyne and Paul Oughton – has decided to go big next season!

“We’re genuinely excited to announce our plans,” said Jeff. “We’re not naive to the fact that the world is a different place now with all that’s happened this year [and] we seriously thought about waiting another year to get our new events off the ground but we’re all optimists. We just want to run some cool stand-alone events.”

Here’s a breakdown of what they’ve got planned…

Saturday January 30: ‘Farm Boy Bash – Minibike Supercross’
An indoor invitational minibike supercross featuring some fairly well-known names on ‘farm bikes’.
Saturday June 12: ‘Helter Skelter Hillclimb’
Four riders race up a hill, turn at the top and then race down again through slalom-style markers to the bottom in a series of knock-out heats on run-what-you-brung machinery.
Tuesday August 3: ‘Airborne Gunner Summer Supercross’
Cusses Gorse is the venue for this invitational SX for MX1, MX2 and Rookie 125/250 riders.
Wednesday August 4: ‘Rock it til Sundown Summer MX Classic’
Steel Hawk MCC’s blue-ribbon MX event catering for classes from Auto to Pro with good prizes for the youth and some solid prize money for the adults.
Saturday/Sunday October 16/17: ‘Hammer & Tong MX Team Trophy’
The club’s very own version of the MXoN.

Venues for the ‘Farm Boy Bash’, ‘Helter Skelter Hillclimb’ and ‘Hammer & Tongs MX Team Trophy’ will be announced over the next few months along with the finalised event formats, timetables, classes and entry registrations on www.steelhawkmc.cc
