Maxxis series heads to Desertmartin for round five…

After a lengthy six week break British championship action resumes with round five at Desertmartin in Northern Ireland. Early reports coming back from Porters Pit make us believe that quite a lot of rain has fallen over the past few days but the track is in prime condition for the big event on Sunday. Metcheck dot com forecast more rain on Saturday evening and a warm, clear day on Sunday.

The general layout of the circuit is the same as recent years with the loop out to the far side in use as it was when the series last visited D-Town in 2008. A new speed jump has been created on the main straight in the main arena and all of the spectator areas will be in use.

The circuit is easily reached off the main Belfast to Londonderry trunk road and is only 45 minutes from the ferry ports of Larne or Belfast. The action starts with the MX2 class at 9am on Sunday with the first of eight championship races due at 12.15pm.
