Jordan Scott gets his 2012 British Sprint Enduro Championship off to a strong start with second in the Under 23 SE2 class in cold and snowy conditions…

Norman Watt Motorcycles supported rider Jordan Scott got his participation in the 2012 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship in Aldershot, Hampshire off to an impressive start by finishing second in class. Competing for the first time on his KTM 350 XCF, Scott recorded two second place results in the Under 23 SE2 class while also scoring a solid fifth overall in Under 23 at the season opener.

With the opening rounds of the BSEC marking his first time competing in the Under 23 class, Scott was keen to impress. However, with the bitterly cold weather making conditions any but favourable, Scott made a cautious but sensible start to day. Easing his way into the event, Scott quickly improved during the day to eventually finish the opening round of the hotly contested series second in class and fifth overall in Under 23.

At round two, Scott continued his run of good form to once again finish second in class and fifth overall.

“I’m happy with my results this weekend,” commented Jordan afterwards. “The course was very slippery early on so I just tried to ride smart and not make too many mistakes. I gradually tried to improve my test times throughout the day and it worked out with fifth overall in Under 23 and second in class.”

“This was my first time competing on the KTM,” continued Scott. “During the first test of the weekend I rode a bit too aggressively for the conditions and it cost me some time. After that I just tried to focus on building a faster rhythm with each lap. I’m enjoying racing the KTM and hope to continuing improving at the next round of the BSEC in four weeks time. Thanks to everyone that’s supporting me – KTM, Norman Watt Motorcycles, PMP Motorsports, Enduro.ie, Thor, Gearne and Shoei.”
