Ryan Villopoto wraps up the 2012 AMA SX series with a dominant win in Houston…
Taking his eighth win of the season so far Ryan Villopoto wrapped up his second straight AMA Supercross season title. RV beat JGR Yamaha’s Davi Millsaps and team-mate Jake Weimer in the 20 lap main event in front of a massive 48,962 fans to extend his series lead over KTM’s Ryan Dungey – who is still sidelined with a collarbone injury – to 104 points. With only 100 points left to play for the title is Villopoto’s. “It’s huge,” Villopoto said. “There is a lot of hard work that went into this, and I am only one piece of the pie. The whole Monster Energy Kawasaki team has worked very hard all year to help me make this happen.”
