Sutty achieves a semi but prematurely splats in Short Track shocker…
The awesome new Leicester Lions speedway stadium in, erm, Leicester hosts the fourth round of the Pozzani Grand National Championships where HM Plant Honda’s Ade Collins blasts to victory in the main event ahead of Tom Woolley, Jacopo Monti and Suzuki team-mates Pete Boast and Tim Neave.
Unfortunately not making the main event is Team DBR rookie racer Sutty who lines up for this round on a converted RMX450Z. With freshly fettled suspension by KAIS Performance, Maxxis shod 19 inch hoops courtesy of Hollis Wheels and the blingest graphics ever seen on the flat track scene fresh from the design studio of Pro-Decals our Deputy Dawg runs 5-9-3 through the heats to snatch a surprise spot in the semi-finals. Eighth in semi one means a trip to the LCQ where it all goes badly for the excitable pie-muncher. After trying a big blast around the outside of turns one and two on the second of eight laps, the same judgment of error a lap later ends with a big highside and bone-jarring crash which causes the red flags to come out. Racing a bent bike and having to give up a 20 yard penalty in the re-run there’s no way a transfer place is achievable and Sutty’s forced to watch the points-payer from the sidelines.
