Fresh from a two day test ahead of this weekend’s Grand Prix of Spain, Monster Energy Yamaha factory rider Romain Febvre spoke of his plans and recent rumours that he could move from Yamaha to HRC – or another factory.

Romain said: “My contract finishes this year and, like everybody, I get some offers from some other teams but I haven’t signed anything yet. I cannot say exactly when but we’ve been speaking and I think it will be very soon…after Spain.”

Despite talk he could change colours, Febvre is heavily tipped to see out another season – his third – with Michele Rinaldi’s Yamaha crew. When asked #461 said that the recent spat with team-mate Jeremy Van Horebeek in Germany that led to the Belgian knocking the champion to the ground in the first moto would have no bearing on the matter. “What Jeremy did was pretty bad for me but now it is done,” he commented. “I think for him it was worse because it was in front of the media and everybody. I’m not too worried and I did not look at this when I was making my decision for the future.”
