The last two weeks have been all about class, speed and style for SR75 Molson Racing Suzuki’s SX athletes Thomas Ramette and Cyrille Coulon.

The 25th Yonne International Supercross went off the scale in front of 14,000 fans and it was an emotional night for Thomas who was racing in front of his home fans, friends and family.

The event was broadcast by some of France’s biggest TV channels and Thomas and Cyrille rose to the occasion. After cruising through their semis they were running 1-2 in the Main Event before Cyrille went down after contact with the third-placed rider. Refusing to give up, Cyrille remounted for seventh as Thomas took another incredible victory under the Brienon circuit’s fantastic fireworks.

“This feeling for me is amazing,” said Thomas. “It is my dream to win this race as it is one of my favourites. My speed is good and it was cool to be up front and racing with style again with Cyrille having fun out there.

“I will keep working to always improve in this heavy schedule we have and I want to thank everyone involved in the team to keep everything perfect each week.”

Next up was the third and final stop on the Hexis Pro Supercross Cup tour with Cyrille holding the red series leader’s plate heading into the showdown.

On a roll after Brienon, Thomas took control of proceedings but Cyrille – with a two-point advantage over Xavier Boog – found the going much tougher.

As his team-mate ran way with the final CC5 gave it 100 per cent to get through the field to Boog after a bad start but, despite his monumental effort, he came up just short.

“I am fully devastated,” said Cyrille. “I want to make this victory and tonight after the start I push as hard as possible. Is difficult to see the track tonight when racing with the pack because of the lights. But no excuse, I needed to make a better start and I don’t so I must race with full commitment.

“It was cool to win the first round and have the red plate during these races and my feeling with this bike is so good. I am having big fun in my team and we make every race cool. Thanks to every person who make SR75 run so smooth and my family and friends.”

Team boss Geoff Walker, fresh from a strong performance of his own at the Vets MXdN where he finished a fine fifth overall in the Twin-shock Under 50 class, was full of praise for his fighting Frenchmen.

“Both guys have been amazing over the past couple of weeks,” he said. “The speed they show week-in, week-out is truly amazing and I’m sure Cyrille is turning into Benjamin Button as he seems to get younger by the week!

“Thomas is taking his speed and elevating his power both physically and mentally as a Pro racer to move up in level each week in supercross. I am very proud of these guys and the feeling we have every day in this team is fantastic.”

Both Thomas and Cyrille will be in action at this weekend’s final round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Foxhill where they will launch the 2017 RM-Z450 with wildcard rides in the MX1 class.

“It will be a challenge to move across to long motos after our conditioning for continental SX events,” added Geoff, “but we like a challenge and we look forward to seeing our sponsors, friends and the fans out at the track. Thanks again to all involved in what we do.”
