Dylan Walsh and James Dunn will chase major domestic MX1 silverware next year and contest selected MXGP and EMX rounds as part of the all-new REVO Seven Kawasaki team.

After taking a year out of competition, REVO boss and Team Principal Mark Yates has joined forces with Kawasaki UK and the Seven clothing brand to sign the pair.

Dylan won the ACU British Motocross MX2 Championship for REVO in 2019 and, with this yearā€™s series cancelled, the 22-year-old Kiwi is looking to make it back-to-back crowns by winning on a KX450 in 2021.

ā€œI canā€™t wait for next year,ā€ said Dylan. ā€œIā€™m going into the British championship as the reigning MX2 champion and hopefully we can pull all the pieces together and come out as MX1 champion. Weā€™re also doing a few GPs which will be good.ā€

As well as contesting the British championship on a pair of KX450s, Dylan and 25-year-old James will be active in Europe with Dylan targeting a number of European MXGP rounds while James could possibly compete in selected EMXOpen races.

ā€œIā€™m excited about 2021 ā€“ it should be a good year and Iā€™m looking forward to it,ā€ said James. ā€œIā€™ve only ridden a 450 Kawasaki once but that was probably three years ago so I donā€™t have a lot of experience with the bikes but itā€™s great to be back with the REVO team. Theyā€™re good people and put a lot back into the sport so Iā€™m very happy to be riding for them again.ā€

Mark is relishing a return to racing following a successful 2019 season when Dylan and his then team-mate Alvin Ɩstlund ended the year first and second in the ACU British MX2 series.

ā€œWe decided to take a year out in 2020 but REVO will be back in the paddock next season,ā€ he said. ā€œWe have forged a great relationship and a strong bond with Dylan over the last two years. He had a number of opportunities but he wanted us involved. He knows he can trust us and that weā€™ll do what we say we will ā€“ when we say we will ā€“ and that weā€™re looking out for his interests as well as our own.

ā€œI would say that Dylanā€™s probably the favourite next year. Considering that this will only be his second season on a 450 his raw speed is incredible. Heā€™s as fast as anyone out there and heā€™ll be a lot more race-ready going into 2021. We are still the reigning MX2 British champions so Dylan is moving up into MX1 and looking for the double. Thatā€™s our main focus.

ā€œWe all know how fast and stylish James can be when heā€™s on his A game. He hasnā€™t ridden this year so heā€™s going to have to get his bike fitness built up but I know heā€™s already training. Weā€™re not expecting him to set the world on fire but it would be nice to see him get up into the top five on occasion.ā€

Kawasaki UKā€™s Ross Burridge is delighted with the new team.

ā€œHaving worked with Mark and the REVO team a few years back itā€™s exciting to once again have them as part of the Team Green family,ā€ he said. ā€œThey have come a long way as a team since we last worked together and Iā€™m eager to see what the team and their strong rider line-up can achieve in the newly revamped British MX Championship.ā€
