The FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) has released today the provisional 2016 Motocross World Championships event calendar.

Some notable changes from last year:
Spain misses out for 2016 as does Sweden. New to the calendar is Frauenfeld in Switzerland.
There are five flyaway rounds to kick-start the GP season against three in 2015, which includes Sepang in Malaysia. The Netherlands keeps its two GPs but Matterley moves to one month later in the season.
The biggest news for our friends over in the USA is that they have two rounds pencilled in, the first is a Saturday event at Charlotte Motor Speedway followed eight days later by Glen Helen, which closes out the MXGP championship.
