Reigning EMX250 Champion Steven Clarke will ride Husqvarna machinery in 2015 for a new motocross team in the paddock, Apico Husqvarna.

The team will compete in the 2015 UK Arenacross series, British Maxxis Motocross Championship, selected rounds of the Pirelli British Masters and defend their EMX250 title competing across Europe once again.

The team will benefit from support from Apico, Putoline, Husqvarna UK and also Husqvarna Motorcycles GmbH who were keen to recog-nise and support the success Steven had in 2014 by winning the EMX 250 title.

“Having ridden similar machinery for the past few years I am really looking forward to getting on the Husky,” said Steven Clarke. ” The bike looks so sweet and having done some testing, so far, rides really well too – the FC250 is so quick and handles similarly to what I am used to. Obviously with the factory help and UK support from Husqvarna Motorcycles and the guys at Apico we have high hopes for 2015 and although I am really looking forward to defending my EMX250 crown, my priority will be the MX2 British championships, I am really focussed on that, especially after my overall win at Foxhill.”

David Edwards, Husqvarna Motorcycles UK Brand Manager commented: ” Its great to have Steven riding for Husqvarna in 2015, defending his EMX250 crown but also riding in the very impressive Arenacross series and the MX2 British Maxxis Championship. He has a good team behind him with Apico, Putoline, Richard and Stuart and I am also looking forward to seeing what impact Daniel and Marcus will have in the UK while they are here. Its going to be good!”

Apico International Director, Dylan Brown commented: “Having worked with Steven in the past, we know Steven and his close-knit team well, and are sure they have a great chance of success in all competitions for 2015. It is with this confidence and that of our suppliers in Apico Husqvarna we are able to offer a fantastic package that will see the team promote Apico and our associated brands at the forefront of British Motocross.”

For Arenacross, Steven will ride the FC450 supported by Husqvarna dealer St Blazey MX along with Daniel McCoy and for outdoors Steven will ride the FC250 along with American team mate Marcus Nielsen.
