E-SCAPE is the UK’s first ‘All-Electric’ Off-Road Riding Centre and is due to open this coming May Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday, May 3).

This unique development comes after several years of complex Planning negotiations and substantial building work. As the founder of E-SCAPE, Stuart Rutter tells us it’s not been easy to make the dream a reality. “It’s certainly been an uphill struggle getting this project off the ground, but we were determined to see it through.”

The seven acre site is comprised of purpose-built Junior and Advanced tracks with a 50-seater cafe and terrace that overlook the riding areas. The company behind the centre aims to set a new standard for recreational off-road venues.

The tracks are designed for recreational riding only and not for racing. Changing areas, toilets and on-site parking are also available.

Using 100% ‘green’ electricity, E-SCAPE combines eco-credentials with adrenalin pumping action. E-SCAPE electric motorcycles can reach 0-30mph in less than three seconds – and all with no noise or emissions.

But the focus is not just on thrills and spills for existing riders. Using ACU approved instructors – E-SCAPE has developed a progressive training programme for new and young riders from six-years-old upwards. With no clutch and gears to worry about, new riders can be up and running much quicker than with conventional off-road bikes.

Following training and Membership, riders can pre-book bikes for 20 or 35 minute durations on either of the two tracks. Corporate days and other group events are an important feature of a recreational centre like this and of course this can also be accommodated.

Located in the village of Preston Brook, Cheshire, E-SCAPE is easily accessed from the motorway network.

E-SCAPE’s sensitive architectural and landscape design combined with the use of quiet motorcycles has brought off-road riding into populated areas. This could help to attract a new and broader audience to two-wheeled off-road fun.

“Electric motorcycling in the UK is way behind our European neighbours and with riding areas under threat from noise,” says Rutter, adding: “E-SCAPE offers a blueprint for a new and more accessible direction for the sport “

E-SCAPE aims to be the showcase for Electric Off-Road Motorcycle products as well as the expanding demand for children’s electric motorcycles such as OSET and Kuberg.

Further E-SCAPE sites are planned for elsewhere in the UK. Landowners interested in becoming part of the E-SCAPE network should contact the company via its website www.e-scape.org.uk
