The track in Arco di Trento for the MXGP of Trentino was rough with BOS GP describing it more like Lommel by the end of Sunday and not a typical Italian track. It was a challenge, to say the least, for both riders and their machines.
Tommy Searle was 14th in Time Practice then 11th in the Qualification race on Saturday, the BOS Factory rider was steadily getting into the rhythm.
After a mid-pack start in the first moto, Tommy came back pretty well, making his way up into 13th but then a small error dropped him back to 17th. “Honestly, the weekend was quite difficult from the start,” said an upset Searle.
In race two, the motivation was back and the 450KX pulled out great from the gate to help Tommy into seventh on the opening lap.
The track was gnarly, the downhill very bumpy, some corners slick and some ruts so deep but the British rider continued to fight to the last lap taking the chequers in an excellent eighth for 11th overall.
“I end with a positive result but now I really hope we can improve and use the next four weeks to make a lot of progress with the suspension and work together as a team to improve.”
BOS GPs Olivier Bossard said: “I’m very happy with Tommy’s performance and our rider has got heart! Now I need to go back to work with him till the moment he feels his bike is perfect. It’s important to me, to him and to the team. The coming break in the calendar will allow that. The top five is not that far.”
