Romain Febvre says he is grateful for the support from fans after his big crash at the MXGP of Turkey – he also revealed further details on the injuries he sustained in Turkey, although he is understandably playing down the seriousness of his condition.

It had initially been revealed that the Frenchman had a concussion but no further injuries. Febvre has tonight posted an injury update that also notes a broken rib and he will now need to rest and wait. “As you know, I had a big crash at the Turkish GP in time practice,” he said via his Instagram account.

“The exams revealed nothing serious except a head concussion and a broken rib. I will now have to rest and wait to feel better. I am very disappointed with this crash because the speed at the end of the season and on this track was good. I would like to thank you for all your messages of support.”

We’ll have to wait and see if this impacts his Team France Motocross of Nations selection – let’s hope the former world champion can make a quick recovery in time for RedBud.
