British teen talent Joel Rizzi will kick off his FIM Motocross World Championship career on Livia Lancelot’s 114 Motorsports Honda team next season.

Rizzi’s struggled this year with a mystery illness that forced him to withdraw early from the EMX250 series but his head-turning pace was noticed by the former WMX world champ.

“I’m super-excited and very thankful to 114 Motorsports to have been given the opportunity to work with such an amazing team,” said Rizzi. “I am counting down the days to be able to join up with the team to start the hard work in preparation for the season ahead.”

Rizzi will be joined on the team by fellow MX2 rider Ruben Fernandez and Axel Louis in EMX250.

“I’m super-excited to welcome new talents in the team,” said Lancelot. “Ruben is one of the riders who was fighting close to the podium this year and this is really what we are working for. Joel is young but already had some great results in EMX250 and we know that the level of this class isn’t far from MX2. Riding with Ruben this winter will help him to improve.

“As for Axel, after a good end of the season where he scored his first top 10 in EMX250 he isn’t in a learning process anymore and will fight for points every weekend.”
