Bike It DRT Kawasaki has drafted a fill-in rider for the injured Darian Sanayei. Likely starting at the MXGP of Czech Republic, Gustavo Pessoa will compete in the MX2 class at Loket for the Kawasaki outfit headed by Steve Dixon ā€“ Pessoa leaves behind 10 years of riding with Honda.

Who is Gustavo Pessoa?

Also known as Gustavo Souza, the Brazilian motocross champion has spent time in the USA racing the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. In 2017 he scored points in several 250 motos as a privateer on a Honda, coming back this year for the first three rounds with his best weekend coming at Hangtown where he finished 20th overall.

It won’t be the Brazilian’s first race in the FIM Motocross World Championship after competing at the opening round this year in Neuquen (MXGP of Argentina) where he finished 25th overall.
