Jake Nicholls ran out the winner in impressive style at the 2018 Patchquick Trophy at the Little Silver track in Exeter.

Buildbase Honda’s Nicholls looked like he may not have it all his own way with team-mate Josh Gilbert ā€“ clearly riding high on confidence after his recent switch to the team ā€“ qualified two-seconds ahead of Nicholls, but the British MX1 red plate holder would go on to run out the winner in all three motos.

Gilbert would go on to finish each moto in third place to secure second overall.

RFX Crescent Yamaha’s Jake Shipton will look back at this year’s event with a ‘what could have been’ after the two-time winner collected two second-place finishes but a 34th in moto two left him with eighth overall.

Dan Thornhill completed the podium spots with a consistent night of racing with a scorecard of 5-2-4 ā€“ his Cab Screens Honda made it a trio of CRF450Rs for the podium.
