With entries still being accepted in most classes – round one takes place at Culham March 30/31 – there have been recent announcements about high-profile teams taking part in this year’s Judd KTM British Youth Championship.

The Judd Racing KTM officially backed squad will have 10 supported riders this year, Steve Parkin’s SJP Moto Husqvarna Team will field nine runners, while Revo Husqvarna will have both their youth pilots attending.

KTM and Judd created a special initiative together last season that will continue for a second year with the Judd Orange Brigade – an official KTM UK team that specifically supports riders through the ranks from 50cc to 250cc as they climb the racing ladder.

These riders, of which there are 10 for 2019, receive comprehensive support from KTM UK and Judd Racing both in equipment discount, parts, clothing, help at the races in a professional environment, promotion and training days.

This year’s squad includes Zane Stephens and Archie Britton (65s), Ben Mustoe (Small-wheel 85s) Bailey Johnston (Big-wheel 85), Preston Williams (125) and Drew Anderson in the Youth Open.
SJP Moto boss, Steve Parkin, was happy to announce that Archie Jay Girdham and Reece Jones would partner up for a crack at the Junior 65s while the rest of his Husqvarna team take on the 85s.

In the Small-wheel 85s, there’s a triple attack featuring Lucy Barker, Finley Evans and Billy Askew, while in the Big-wheel 85s, Charlie Heyman, James Barker, Hudson Roper and Jayden Haigh make up a really strong quartet.

As for the Revo Husqvarna team Ollie Colmer will take on the Big-wheel 85cc challenge, while Ryan Waggott tackles the Small-wheel 85s. Ollie, the 2017 BYN Junior 65s runner-up, was last year’s MX Nationals and Bridgestone Masters Small-wheel 85cc champion. Ryan finished sixth in last season’s BYN 65s and he’ll be keen to make his mark in this his rookie 85s year.
