The Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Aaron Plessinger battled through the penultimate round of the 2018 AMA Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday to claim a moto win, top-10 overall and the 250MX Championship at the Budds Creek National in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

Aaron Plessinger had a successful weekend as he wrapped up the 250MX Championship one round early, starting off with a bang as he piloted his YZ250F to victory in moto one with a 6.7 seconds gap over RJ Hampshire.

The victory meant Plessinger was able to claim the title before the second gate drop.

The second 250 Class moto saw Plessinger launch out of the gate to sweep the holeshot once more but on lap seven Plessinger lost the front end of his machine coming down a hill, which dropped him down the field ā€“ he would finish 11th.

This is the fourth championship for Star Yamaha in five years and Plessinger’s second title in 2018 after also winning the 250SX West Championship.

“All I can say is wow, this year has been unbelievable,” Plessinger told his fans on Instagram. “Two championships in one year, Iā€™m still in shock I think. Iā€™ve had so much fun this year and itā€™s not even over yet! Canā€™t wait for whatā€™s to come!”
