A motocross rider has tragically died following a crash at a motocross track in Sedgefield, England, according to a report from the BBC.
It was the first of two “serious incidents” at the private track near Low Hardwick Farm at lunchtime yesterday.
The rider, who hasn’t been named by Police, was taken to a hospital in Middlesbrough by air ambulance but sadly died before arrival.
A second serious crash at the event around an hour later, reportedly a female rider in her 30s, then led the Police to close the event after she was also airlifted to hospital.
A spokesman for Durham Police told the BBC: “With two very serious incidents within little more than an hour, we felt there was little choice but to bring the event to a close.”
British Pro Brad Anderson is a friend of the rider that died. Last night he posted an online message: “Very sad news today TB my mate has passed away rest in peace, such a huge character full of life will never be forgotten, Thomas Brown.”
