Southwick serves as the only sand track in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

The legendary facility has hosted a Lucas Oil Motocross event since the 1976 season.

The layout of Moto-X 338 is unique in that it allows for great viewing lines from nearly any portion of the track, thanks to its intimate configuration that features several out-and-back sections.

June 29 is the earliest the Moto-X 338 National has been on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross schedule since June 10, 2007.

Veteran rider and local legend John Dowd made history at Southwick in 2009 by becoming the oldest rider in history to finish on the podium. This weekend, he will continue his illustrious career, looking to break the record he already owns as the oldest rider to ever qualify for a motocross national.

Dowd also holds the distinction of first winning at Moto-X 338 in the 450 Class during the 1997 season, then winning in the 250 Class one year later.

This weekend, John Dowd and his son Ryan will attempt to become the first father/son duo to qualify for a motocross national in the same year.

Six different riders have secured the overall win in the 450 Class over the past six seasons at Southwick.

In 2011, Tyla Rattray became the first 250 Class rider to repeat since Travis Pastrana in 2001.

Dungey is the only rider in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to finish on the podium in every moto. His worst result was third in the first moto of Round 5. 450 Class Stats

The first motocross National held in Southwick was June 6, 1976. Pierre Karsmakers won on a Honda. It was his final Lucas Oil Motocross victory.

This will be the 35th time the gate will drop for a 450 Class race at Moto-X 338.

Broc Glover, Ricky Carmichael, John Dowd, Mike Kiedrowski, Doug Henry, James Stewart and Tyla Rattray have won at Moto-X 338 in both classes.

Ricky Carmichael won eight consecutive races at Moto-X 338 from 2000 to 2007.

Honda has swept Moto-X 338 in both the 450 and 250 classes four times, while Yamaha has done it twice. Kawasaki did it once in 2008, which was the last time such an occurrence took place.

Ryan Dungey earned the KTM brand its first-ever win at Southwick in 2012.

Four riders have earned their final-career Lucas Oil Motocross victory at Southwick.

Yamaha’s last Lucas Oil Motocross victory in the 450 Class came in Southwick back in 2009, when Matt Goerke captured his first career win.
