The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team really stepped it up this weekend at Petco Park. Joey Savatgy was on point and landed firmly on the podium with a second place finish, while team-mate Chris Alldredge nabbed the #10 position.

With a successful San Diego outing, the team is excited to return to Anaheim for Round 3.

Savatgy looking to make a statement

Joey Savatgy’s confidence and skill were on display for San Diego fans Saturday. In the 250SX heat, he was able to steal his first heat win of the season as well as land his first main event holeshot for the 2016 season.

For a majority of the main event, Savatgy was in a fierce battle with Geico Honda’s Jordon Smith and Western 250SX points leader, Cooper Webb.

Savatgy would eventually go on to finish second, just behind Webb – proving the focused work put in midweek is paying off the team.

Savatgy said: “We had the speed, I definitely feel like we’re really close, got to work on a couple things at the farm, and come out swinging next weekend.

“Took a little bit too long to get going, but we learn from it, move on and we build from it! We’re close to that win and it’s only a matter of time.”

Alldredge battles for top 10

Chris Alldredge gave it everything he had and despite an injury sustained in practice, he put on a show. Hustling through constant battles during the main event, he was able to overcome a minor hiccup and focus on making minimal mistakes, managing to land in the top 10.

“In the main I felt good for the first half of the race until I made a small mistake and stalled my bike,” Alldredge said. “From that point on I just tried to ride clean and not make any more mistakes, and ended up 10th. It’s not where I want to be when I have the team and bike to finish strong.”
