The Monster Energy Kawasaki team of Eli Tomac and Wil Hahn headed to Arlington, Texas this weekend for round seven of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM Championship. The team was poised to continue its trend of building on key milestones each week.

Tomac transferred into the Main Event by taking his first trip into a semi while Hahn took his third LCQ win of the season. In the 450 Main Event, both Tomac and Hahn did not have great starts, however, by the halfway point Tomac had raced his way into fifth where he would remain until the checkers flew. Meanwhile, Hahn had an unfortunate crash while working through the field and would eventually cross the line in 15th.

“Considering how the night started, my fifth tonight wasn’t bad,” said Tomac. “Off the start I wasn’t where I’d like to be but I passed quite a few riders straight away and rounded out around seventh, then spent the rest of the race working up to fifth. I had the speed early on but couldn’t quite maintain it, so I’ll be working on that and I’ll keep working hard heading into the next round.”

“I didn’t have the night I wanted,” said Hahn. “Qualifying was good, I actually had pretty good speed all night, really everything we’ve been working on was better, I just didn’t ride the way I wanted to and the way I need to. We’ll go back home and keep working.”
