He might be out of the world championship race but David Knight’s managed to pick up one award in 2011…
David Knight’s enduro exploits have apparently hit the Queen’s soft spot as the 33-year-old Manx legend is honoured for his services to motorcycling and will officially become a ‘Member of the Order of the British Empire’. Apparently DK is ‘shell-shocked’ by the news he’ll receive the award during a Buckingham Palace tea party.
“I hope they put on a good spread with cucumber sandwiches, sausage rolls and some of them fancy cup cakes,” Knighter might have said if the sidelined E3 racer would ever pick up his damn phone. “It’s a real honour blah blah blah etc etc,” he didn’t continue. He also didn’t say, ‘hee hee it’s turned out nice again, now where’s me washboard’.
Seriously though, well in DK and next time you’re passing through pop by for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
